Non-light emitting heat source for all types of reptiles, amphibians, and plant terrariums. The Repticare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter can increase the inside air temperature or your terrarium a full ten to 20 degrees (F) above the outside room temperature. This is especially important when keeping "high temperature" tropical-type reptiles like green iguanas, monitor lizards, tegus, boas, pythons, and other desert or tropical species requiring high temperatures. More importantly, the infrared heat given off by the emitter will warm the animal in your enclosure more efficiently than any other type of heating device. Heat emitters give off intense infrared heat, penetrating into the animals muscles, but emit no light--the perfect 24 hour heat source for all tropical and desert reptiles. It is of robust construction being made of ceramic and not glass and has a much longer life span than a glass bulb, which are known to shatter if accidentally splashed with water.
Note: These can have a slight rattle where the solder has come off.
These are the same bulbs I use to hang on the outside of the cage near some of my Gouldian Finch nest boxes (I've found that some will feed the young but once hatched they don't always sit on them to keep them warm so can go cold until feathered up)! SEE PHOTO TO SEE WHAT I DID AND USED THE SAME 150w BULB (Note this case is not included).
Also I use in the same way if a bird appears unwell!
